The light bulb has finally started flashing in my head and I now realize how important it is to have an opt-in list to make money on the Internet. I’ve read hundreds of articles on the subject and sought expert advice.

With that light bulb still flashing away I finally started a list of my own. Only very small at the moment but started. So! How do I build this list big enough to generate an income from?

It has been pretty scary setting this up. What website to use. What type of an opt-in form to use. Should you use an auto-responder service or a script on your own site? How should you format the messages? How many should you send a week? The list still goes on and on.

When I logged into my Adsense account at the end of this month, and looked at last month’s stats, I was surprised to find that I had made a few cents over fifteen dollars.
Not a fortune but a start. At this rate I could expect my first cheque sometime in the New Year.

So what progress has been made since my start into Internet Marketing? Well, to be honest, not a whole lot in the financial front. As for the learning curve? I think I have picked myself up from the bottom and have managed to climb just a few rungs up the ladder towards the top.
I now know that the best advice I was given was to put away my credit cards and hide my wallet. There are a lot of internet marketers out there who will offer you hundreds of products “guaranteed” to make you rich overnight.

I figured the best way to learn the ropes on how to create an income online without spending a fortune would be to go to some of the top forums
By spending time reading old posts in internet marketing forums and reading all of the current posts you can learn as much as a $500 course might teach you. The best part is that it is a free education.

I have been told that if I sit in front of this computer for a long enough period of time I will eventually get tired of it. This is especially true if you are looking for ways to make money online.

There seems to be literally thousands of ways to make money online and one can quickly get overwhelmed and never really make any money.

So! What am I rely trying to achieve here on the internet?

1. Do I need immediate cash?

2. Am I looking for long term income as in residual income?
